Reliable connectivity should not stop at borders, especially in modern agriculture.

To validate this in practice, OrbitsIQ Global (OIQ) partnered with Janssen Rhede, a leading German agricultural service provider known for its advanced digital workflows, smart farming practices, and highly efficient operational processes. Their expertise made them an ideal commercial pilot partner for testing our MOVE smart-switching connectivity solution in demanding real-world conditions.

Between July and September, a Fendt test vehicle equipped with MOVE underwent six independent field campaigns across the Dutch border region, an area where frequent network transitions pose a major challenge for farming contractors.

For companies like Janssen Rhede, uninterrupted data flows, including yield data, are essential for operational accuracy and efficiency. Ensuring reliable connectivity is therefore a critical requirement, not a luxury.

Key Results

• TN (5G/LTE) usage: 97.3%

• NTN (satellite) usage: 2.7% (as a seamless, effective fallback)

MOVE consistently delivered stable, border-resilient connectivity and demonstrated strong hybrid performance under real agricultural workloads. These results highlight the value of combining terrestrial and non-terrestrial networks to support smarter, more reliable, and more efficient operations across the agricultural sector.
