OrbitsIQ Global announced the successful demonstration of its AI-driven MOVE Smart Switching software during the 38th 5G Automotive Association (5GAA) Meeting Week in Munich, where attendees experienced resilient hybrid connectivity in a live vehicle demonstration.

During demonstration drives, MOVE continuously monitored available terrestrial and non-terrestrial network links, intelligently selecting the optimum connection before service quality degraded. This “make-before-break” approach enables persistent connectivity for data-intensive applications without interrupting ongoing sessions, even as network conditions change.

The demonstration showcased the capabilities of the MOVE software running on OrbitsIQ Global’s demonstration platform. While the vehicle was equipped with the MOVE Slim Kit, the hardware served solely as a demonstration proxy. The company’s vision is for MOVE to operate as an embedded software contribution within the application processor of customer devices, such as automotive telematics control units (TCUs), integrating seamlessly into existing OEM connectivity architectures.

Unlike conventional connectivity management approaches, MOVE operates independently of mobile or satellite network providers, acting as an intelligent software broker capable of managing sessions across heterogeneous terrestrial and non-terrestrial networks. This gives OEMs the flexibility to optimise connectivity based on network availability, performance and commercial requirements while supporting resilient, always-on vehicle communications.
